showing up for the occasion
When you are in any type of relationship you have to be emotionally and mentally present. Especially, it's so important to emotionally, spiritually and mentally connect to the person in that relationship. What I mean is, you shouldn't just barely put effort into that relationship because the other person will sense that. Also, you have to have empathy, sympathy and be vulnerable and express your inner most feelings, wants and desires. This vulnerability along with honesty are like glue and help build trust and creating a feeling of being comfortable to be yourself without fear or judgment. Finding someone that is willing to be communicative, vulnerable and willing to put in the work into that relationship is very hard to find. Society has conditioned us all to believe that having feelings is a weakness and that feelings don't matter. This is so far from the truth because Jesus Christ wept, felt pain, grieved, was betrayed, abandoned and was lied to. So he is the example that we are beings that feel and love and that want to be loved in return. The next time you feel the urge to tuck away your feelings, don't because fear doesn't come from God but instead it's a tool of the enemy to stifel and silence us into submission.
