priority vs obligation

Obligation versus priority, obligation is a required commitment that you must fulfill, while priority is a choice you make that comes first among your obligations. I know that personally I've been placed in the back burner like I don't matter. Honestly, why would you want to pour yourself into someone that's not willing to the same for you. It's not about gifts or money because love can't be bought, it's about effort and the willingness to plan and set aside time for the things or people you say you love. Who likes to be treated like they don't matter, well nobody in their right mind. Nobody should do things for someone out of obligation because they should want to express through their actions how much love and care they have for someone. All I know is if I am pouring myself into someone I expect them to reciprocate and pour back into me. If this minimum requirement is too much for someone to handle then I suppose there is nothing more to be said.
